You, Me & Tuscany: A Sun-Drenched Romantic Escape Arrives in Cinemas This April

A Romantic Getaway to the Heart of Italy

You, Me & Tuscany opens in cinemas nationwide on Friday, 10 April 2026, bringing with it a sweeping romantic comedy set against the golden landscapes of Italy. With an international cast and a creative team known for delivering both heart and spectacle, the film blends escapist romance with emotional depth.

At its core, the story explores self-discovery, second chances and the transformative power of love — all set in the rolling vineyards and historic town squares of Tuscany.

The Story

Anna, played by Halle Bailey, is drifting through her twenties after abandoning her dream of becoming a chef. Following a chance encounter with Matteo, a charming Italian with an empty Tuscan villa, Anna makes an impulsive decision to travel to Italy.

Her spontaneous plan unravels when Matteo’s family unexpectedly arrives — prompting Anna to pretend she is his fiancée. The situation becomes even more complicated when Matteo’s cousin Michael, portrayed by Regé-Jean Page, enters the picture. What begins as a harmless lie quickly evolves into a journey of rediscovery, romance and personal growth.

The film combines classic romantic comedy energy with a more introspective travel narrative, capturing the magic of finding yourself in an unfamiliar place.

Filmed on Location in Tuscany and Rome

The production was shot on location across Tuscany and Rome, with vineyard estates, historic town centres and countryside olive groves providing a richly textured backdrop. Cinecittà Studios in Rome hosted key interior builds, allowing the production to balance practical realism with cinematic scale.

Production design leaned into warm palettes, regional craftsmanship and authentic Italian architecture to immerse audiences in the setting. From the Costa family’s restaurant to Michael’s vineyard, each location plays an integral role in shaping the emotional landscape of the film.

Cuisine as a Love Language

Food serves as more than just atmosphere — it becomes central to Anna’s emotional journey. As she reconnects with cooking, she reconnects with herself. A Michelin-level chef consulted on the culinary elements, ensuring authenticity across featured dishes, while lead actress Halle Bailey undertook culinary rehearsals before filming began.

In You, Me & Tuscany, cuisine becomes a metaphor for healing, creativity and connection.

Sustainability on Set

The production participated in a comprehensive sustainability initiative, implementing measures such as renewable diesel use, LED lighting, hybrid vehicles and reusable catering systems. Construction materials were repurposed or donated after filming, and efforts were made to significantly reduce single-use plastics on set.

These behind-the-scenes efforts align with the film’s thematic emphasis on reconnecting with nature and embracing a more grounded way of living.

Festival Energy and Cinematic Romance

One of the film’s standout sequences features a traditional-style barrel race set during a vibrant summer festival. In contrast, a serenade scene offers an intimate musical moment that underscores the chemistry between the leads.

The cinematography balances sweeping landscape visuals with close, emotionally resonant framing — capturing both the grandeur of Tuscany and the vulnerability of its characters.
