There’s nothing to beat the sense of occasion of an outing to theatre, selecting your seats, buying your tickets, getting dressed up and deciding where to go for your pre-show dinner. The anticipation is almost as wonderful as the experience, made even more so when the quality of the show, the venue and the restaurant combine to deliver a complete package.
Montecasino has evolved into one of Gauteng’s prime ‘theatre districts’, with three theatres offering a wide variety of show genres, concerts, and both local and international productions. The world-class Teatro, which this year again won the well-earned Best of Joburg Reader’s Choice Award for Best Theatre for the eighth consecutive year, and the Pieter Toerien Main Theatre and Studio Theatre.
A theatre district is typically surrounded by an abundance of restaurants, and Montecasino is no exception, with a vast variety of fine dining, casual dining and fast food options to cater for theatre-goers.
