Krispy Kreme’s story began in 1937 when Vernon Rudolph, the man responsible for these heavenly delights, bought a secret recipe for yeast-raised doughnuts from a French chef in New Orleans… 1976 Vernon sadly passed away, but his legacy lives on and Krispy Kreme will be celebrating 81 years this year. Krispy Kreme doughnuts are made fresh daily delivering delicious taste and many joyful experiences across the world.

In 2015 this iconic brand made its way to the African continent, with its first store opening in Rosebank, Johannesburg. Krispy Kreme South Africa now boasts 12 stores across Gauteng, and Kwa-Zulu Natal, namely; The Zone @Rosebank, Sandton Gautrain, Mall of Africa, Sandton City, Clearwater Mall, Menlyn Mall, Brooklyn Mall, Park Station, Eastgate, Gateway Theatre of Shopping in Umhlanga, Ballito, and, most recently, The Glen Shopping Centre in April 2018.

Krispy Kreme South Africa has 16 variations of doughnuts where, at any given time, a few of these are specialized and are limited edition. They also offer a wide variety of beverages including; coffee, chillers, kremey chillers, lemonades and hot chocolates. Krispy Kreme South Africa even blends their own coffee for an authentic locally-produced brew, fondly known as “Local Blend, American Trend”.

Krispy Kreme South Africa has also teamed up with Uber Eats as a delivery partner so as to ensure that one can enjoy their spoils from the comfort of your home or desk. They have also an online ordering service where customers can preorder and prepay for their doughnuts from a selection of combinations, or even CUSTOMISE their very own dozen (or a few dozen) for one’s special event. If you think it couldn’t get any better- all Krispy Kreme South Africa stores are Halaal, they have free wifi and offer Soy or Almond milk as an alternative for your perfect coffee fix.

P.S. Rosebank and Gateway have what is called a Hot Light. Go check it out.
