From the desk of Bianca Emmerick: Ryan Boggett: The Rise of a 12-Year-Old FMX Prodigy

There are moments in sport that stop you in your tracks—moments where age, expectation and logic simply fall away, and all that remains is raw talent, courage and belief. Watching 12-year-old Ryan Boggett in the air is one of those rare instances.
This past November at King of the Whip at Montecasino, Ryan made history as the youngest rider ever to feature in the event.
Let that sink in for a moment.
Not the youngest in a specific category—the youngest ever to take part. It is an extraordinary achievement for any athlete, but for a child of his age and size, it borders on the unbelievable.

Quiet Confidence on the Ground
If you were to meet Ryan off the bike, you might miss this intensity at first. He is quiet, soft-spoken and calm. There is no bravado, no inflated ego, no sense of entitlement.
His confidence lives where it should—on the bike, in the air, in the split second where instinct, skill and fear collide. Even then, it is never arrogance; it is belief.
This belief is earned through countless hours of practice, falls that hurt more than he admits, and a discipline far beyond his years. When Ryan launches off a ramp, the world seems to hold its breath.

In that fraction of a second, he calculates speed, wind, angle and landing—not with conscious thought, but with a feel that cannot be taught. His heart races. His body commits.
The bike soars.
Suspended high above the ground, he finds something most of us will never experience: absolute freedom.
Mastery in the Making
This level of commitment is not something people can easily fathom. It is not reckless, nor is it luck. It is mastery in the making. Seeing images of Ryan at King of the Whip was nothing short of breathtaking. The composure, height and control were undeniable.
It is impossible not to imagine what could be possible if this young athlete had the right sponsorship, the right mentorship and a team fully backing his journey.
With that support, we may very well be witnessing the early chapters of an international FMX phenomenon—a proudly South African, home-grown hero flying our flag on the world stage.
Flying Towards the Future
Despite the spotlight and the accolades, Ryan remains deeply grateful for every opportunity that comes his way. Every ramp, every event and every person who believes in him matters.
He rides not for fame, but for the love of the sport and for a dream that already feels larger than the sky he soars through.
His next goal is to land a Superman. This requires a moment of total commitment, where rider and machine separate mid-air, defying gravity and fear alike. It is a dream within reach, but dreams like this are never achieved alone.

A Hero in the Making
Ryan Boggett represents more than exceptional talent.
He represents possibility—the kind that reminds us why we fell in love with sport in the first place.
This potential deserves to be nurtured, protected and championed.
His dream is to fly higher. Our dream is to help make it possible. Now is the time to rally behind him, to believe in him, and to invest in the future of a young boy who has already shown us that sometimes, heroes don’t rise—they take off.
Join the Flight
Ryan’s journey is only just beginning, and you won’t want to miss a single moment of it. From practice sessions to big air at major events, follow his progress as he chases that Superman dream.
