Qatar Airways Expands Winter Schedule with More Flights from Joburg

For those already dreaming of a winter escape, planning just became much easier, as Qatar Airways has unveiled its enhanced global winter schedule.
This expansion is set to increase flights to over 15 popular destinations whilst also offering travellers greater choice, thereby ensuring seamless connectivity through its hub, the award-winning Hamad International Airport in Doha.
Award-Winning Global Connectivity
Recently honoured as the World’s Best Airline by Skytrax for an unprecedented ninth time, Qatar Airways is enhancing its services to cater to the increasing demand for travel.
A key highlight of the revamped schedule, for instance, is the significant expansion of flights to London, now featuring an impressive offering of up to 10 daily services to Heathrow.
This expansion consequently reflects the airline’s commitment to accommodating travellers with greater convenience and flexibility, ensuring a seamless journey to one of the world’s most iconic destinations.
This frequency, which is complemented by British Airways’ own double daily flights, consequently makes reaching the iconic city more convenient than ever before.
‘Qatar Airways is consistently witnessing a steady rise in demand for our 5-star services to some of the most prominent destinations in the world, most notably for London, Dublin, Cape Town, and São Paulo.’
~ Mr. Thierry Antinori, Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer
Mr. Antinori also noted the airline’s commitment to the Australian market, with partner Virgin Australia launching flights from Melbourne to Doha while Qatar Airways restarts services to Canberra. Ultimately, this move reinforces the airline’s dedication to connecting Australia with the rest of the world.
More Options for South African Travellers
South Africans certainly have reason to celebrate, as the expanded schedule includes significant increases for local routes. For instance, travellers from Johannesburg will benefit from an increase from 14 to 18 weekly flights, providing more flexibility for business and leisure trips, while Cape Town will see its services increase from 10 to 12 weekly flights, offering more opportunities to connect to the airline’s vast global network.
