The global pop icon enters a bold new musical era with her tenth studio album, celebrated in South Africa with an intimate Warner Music Africa listening event

Global pop icon Miley has officially released her highly anticipated tenth studio album, Bass Persuades, across major streaming platforms worldwide.

To mark the release in South Africa, Warner Music Africa brought together a select group of media personalities, industry insiders, content creators and fans for an exclusive pre-release listening experience in Johannesburg.

Johannesburg Gets an Exclusive First Listen

The intimate event took place at the Roger Ballen Centre for Photography in Forest Town, with the renowned creative space providing an atmospheric backdrop for Miley’s latest musical chapter.

Guests were invited to experience Bass Persuades from beginning to end ahead of its global release, offering an early introduction to the sound and creative direction of the Grammy Award-winning artist’s new era.

Released globally on 18 September 2026, Bass Persuades is Miley’s tenth studio album and features 10 tracks spanning dance-pop, electronic influences and experimental sounds.

Inside Miley’s ‘Bass Persuades’ Album

The album includes a collaboration with Model/Actriz on Different Religion, while Andrew Wyatt of Miike Snowappears on Neon Signs. Production contributions also come from frequent Miley collaborators Kid Harpoon and Maxx Morando.

The album’s title track, Bass Persuades, offered fans their first taste of the project earlier this month.

Accompanied by a visually striking music video directed by Mert Alas, the track combines throbbing ’80s-inspired synths with an energetic dance-pop pulse. At its heart is an invitation to disconnect from the digital world, surrender to the music and simply dance.

Johannesburg’s Creative Scene Celebrates Miley

The Johannesburg listening event brought together several familiar names from South Africa’s entertainment, fashion and media industries.

Guests included television personalities Chanley Wong and Lee-Roy Wright, fashion model Ponahalo Mojapelo, and radio personalities Mike Vee, Thabile TTO and Joy Fakude. They were joined by digital content creators, industry figures and Miley fans.

For Warner Music Africa, the evening was designed to bring the album closer to the people helping shape conversations around music and global pop culture in South Africa.

The project adds another chapter to a career defined by reinvention, with its 10 tracks offering a fresh perspective on the pop star’s evolving sound.
