LUMINARY SOUTH AFRICAN JAZZ ENSEMBLE DANIMALI LAUNCHES DIALOGUES ACROSS PROVINCES TOUR – A JOURNEY OF SOUND, STORY, AND UNITY

Acclaimed South African saxophonist and composer Nhlanhla Mahlangu and his ensemble DaniMali are proud to announce the launch of Jazz Dialogues Across Provinces, a five-date interprovincial tour happening from 23 July to 2 August 2025. Proudly supported by Concerts SA, the Hugh Masekela Heritage Foundation, DaniMali NPC, Makhubeng Music, and Urban Zulu, celebrates Afro-Jazz as a living language of cultural memory and creative exchange. With four concerts across Gauteng and a finale performance in Cape Town, the tour bridges geographic and artistic divides, showcasing the power of jazz to connect communities and tell African stories.

This tour is about creating meaningful conversations – between generations, provinces, and art forms, and honoring the indigenous knowledge systems that shape our sound. Collaborating with brand partners aligned with the values of the collective goals of sharing creativity, heritage, and community, the project benefits from support from the University of South Africa (UNISA), with additional touring and development support from Concerts SA’s Music Mobility Fund and their partners Festival Enterprise Catalyst, SAMRO, and the National Treasury Jobs Fund. South African ready-to-wear, bespoke clothing and accessory brand Urban Zulu joins the tour’s partnership stable as the official fashion partner.
