The Bedford Sunset Market returns to Johannesburg this September with street food, local shopping, live music and family-friendly entertainment

Spring evenings are made for staying out a little longer. The Bedford Sunset Market is returning on Friday, 11 September 2026, from 4pm to 10pm, bringing food, shopping and live entertainment together under the stars.

Presented in partnership with The Urban Markets, the popular event will transform the open deck parking area at Entrance 2 into a vibrant evening destination filled with artisan stalls, independent makers and local brands.

Shop Local and Taste Spring Flavours

The Bedford Sunset Market will showcase a curated selection of food, fashion, home décor, crafts and handmade goods. Visitors can expect gourmet street food, food trucks and speciality treats, making it an easy stop for dinner, dessert or an evening snack.

The market also shines a spotlight on small businesses, giving shoppers the chance to discover unique local products while supporting independent creators.

Live Music and a Relaxed Outdoor Atmosphere

As the afternoon gives way to evening, live music and acoustic performances will set the tone for a laid-back Friday night. Comfortable seating areas will give visitors space to relax with friends and family while soaking up the spring atmosphere.

A Different Way to Experience Bedford

The Bedford Sunset Market has become a favourite seasonal event by transforming the shopping centre into an after-hours social space.

“Spring is the perfect time to bring people together, and the Bedford Sunset Market gives our community an opportunity to connect, discover something new and enjoy Bedford after hours,” says Linda Linnow, General Manager of Bedford.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming families and friends for a relaxed Friday evening and a great start to the new season.”

The September edition will also feature family-friendly activities, making it an ideal way to kick off the weekend.
